A quality work truck can elevate your business, providing the capabilities you need to do more. Whether you work on the farms around O’Neil, are a contractor, or operate any other type of business, here at Gateway Motors, we have a wide range of quality work trucks for sale near O’Neill for you to choose from.

Our expansive work truck inventory includes models from both Chevy and Ram. Whether you need a versatile half-ton truck, a powerful heavy-duty model, or a custom upfit chassis cab to complete your day’s work, we have what you are looking for here in our inventory. Let’s take a closer look at some of the work trucks we offer.

Half-Ton Trucks

The half-ton pickup is probably the single most versatile vehicle you can buy for your business. While it may not have the towing and payload capacity of a larger truck, a half-ton model is ideal for getting around O’Neil and the surrounding areas with the tools and supplies you need to handle just about any routine task. If this is the sort of work truck you’re looking for, then you can find both the Chevy Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500 here at our dealership.

Chevy Silverado 1500

The Silverado 1500 is a favorite for hard workers across the country. This half-ton model offers a variety of high-value trims designed for businesses and independent contractors, including the bare-bones and appropriately-named Work Truck, as well as the more comfortable Custom and the Custom Trail Boss if you need some dependable off-road capability.

With a max towing capacity of 13,300 lbs and a max payload of 2,260 lbs, the 2026 Silverado 1500 can handle a wide range of tasks. Plus, it is one of the few half-ton trucks that still offers a regular cab and an eight-foot bed, making it a great choice for maximum utility. You can also equip it with a powerful diesel engine, which can be helpful if you use diesel for your other equipment.

Ram 1500

While the Ram 1500 may not be as popular as the Silverado 1500, it brings its own advantages to the table. Ram is known for providing a refined ride, with unique features like its exclusive coil-spring rear suspension that can help make a workday feel more relaxed. It also offers some of the best infotainment tech in the business if you need to stay connected while getting to jobs around O’Neil.

However, the star of the show is Ram’s exceptional engine options, including the legendary HEMI V8 and the powerful new Hurricane turbo-six. With up to 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque, a 2026 Ram 1500 with the Hurricane engine can overpower almost any other truck in the half-ton segment. If you just need an affordable work truck to get around town, there is also a dependable and efficient Pentastar V6 engine.

Heavy-Duty Trucks

Our heavy-duty lineup is ideal for O’Neil residents looking for a truck that works as hard as they do. Their reinforced frames and upgraded powertrains make them capable of hauling heavy loads and pulling gooseneck trailers between job sites. These trucks are also available as both basic pickups and as chassis cab models that are ready to be upfit for your unique needs.

Heavy-duty trucks are split into two categories:

  • The top one-ton models provide maximum capability to handle the toughest of jobs, especially in their dual-rear-wheel configurations, but usually require a CDL if driven for commercial purposes.
  • The lighter three-quarter-ton models are still far more powerful than a half-ton truck, but don’t require any additional licensing.

Chevy Silverado HD

Bigger and better than the Silverado 1500, the Silverado HD family offers more muscle for your toughest tasks. Available in the three-quarter-ton Silverado 2500 HD and the one-ton Silverado 3500 HD, the highlight of these mighty trucks is their available Duramax turbo-diesel engine and Allison transmission, which are built to provide dependable performance for the long term.

2026 Silverado 2500 HD

  • Max Towing: 22,430 lbs
  • Max Payload: 3,689 lbs

2026 Silverado 3500 HD

  • Max Towing: 36,000 lbs
  • Max Payload: 7,234 lbs

If you need to move large payloads and don’t want to hitch up a trailer, the Silverado HD stands out for its best-in-class cargo volume of 83.5 cu.ft. and comes standard with 12 tie downs rated for 500 lbs per corner. Like the Silverado 1500, the Silverado HD is available in the work-oriented Work Truck and Custom trim levels, although it doesn’t have a Custom Trail Boss variant.

Ram Heavy Duty

Ram’s counterpart to the Silverado HD family takes a similar path to the Ram 1500, offering a more unique experience tailored more to independent workers than big fleets. For 2026, both the three-quarter-ton Ram 2500 and one-ton Ram 3500 come with either a 6.4L HEMI V8 or a high-output Cummins turbo-diesel with 1,075 lb-ft of torque.

2026 Ram 2500

  • Max Towing: 20,000 lbs
  • Max Payload: 3,930 lbs

2026 Ram 3500

  • Max Towing: 36,610 lbs
  • Max Payload: 7,590 lbs

Interestingly, the Ram 2500 is the only heavy-duty truck to offer rear coil springs, providing a much more comfortable ride than you might expect. The Tradesman trim is the most work-oriented option in the Ram Heavy Duty family, but Ram goes out of its way to offer a variety of more specialized heavy-duty trims, such as the stylish Black Express and rugged Warlock.

Chevy and Ram Chassis Cabs

Many truck shoppers around O’Neil are not content with a standard pickup truck, and our Chevy and Ram chassis cab models are the perfect solution. In addition to chassis cab variants of their one-ton models, both brands also offer larger, more commercial-oriented trucks. If you think one of these capable work trucks is more up your alley, then our team will not only be happy to show you our inventory, but also talk upfits to ensure you get a truck customized to your needs.

Ram Chassis Cab

The Ram Chassis Cab family covers three different models, but there are some differences between them. The Ram 3500 Chassis Cab is effectively a standard Ram 3500 pickup truck minus the bed, while the Ram 4500 Chassis Cab and Ram 5500 Chassis Cab offer more rail space for larger upfits.

Ram 3500 Chassis Cab

  • Regular Cab: 60″ or 84″ CA
  • Crew Cab: 60″ CA

Ram 4500 Chassis Cab

  • Regular Cab: 60″, 84″, 108″, or 120″ CA
  • Crew Cab: 60″ or 84″ CA

Ram 5500 Chassis Cab

  • Regular Cab: 60″, 84″, 108″, or 120″ CA
  • Crew Cab: 60″ or 84″ CA

Silverado Chassis Cab

Chevy offers four chassis cab models in the Silverado family, but there is a bigger division between them. The Silverado 3500 HD Chassis Cab is similar to the Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, being effectively a pickup without the bed. However, the Silverado 4500 HD, 5500 HD, and 6500 HD are much larger medium-duty trucks built on an entirely different platform co-developed with Navistar. These trucks are also only sold with the Chevy 6.6L turbo-diesel and do not have a gasoline engine option.

This can make the Silverado chassis cab models ideally suited for larger fleets that need a higher level of capability, but might make them too much for independent farmers and contractors around O’Neil. Our team can walk you through the differences between the Ram and Chevy chassis cab options to ensure you find the perfect work truck for your needs.
